Founded on 2 December 1923, Sporting Clube da Praia is one of Cape Verde’s most historic and celebrated clubs, based in the vibrant capital city of Praia, where they play their home matches at the iconic Estádio da Várzea.

 

With a proud heritage spanning over a century, the club shares historic ties with Portuguese giants Sporting Clube de Portugal, reflected in its iconic green and white colours and distinctive lion emblem. These traditions remain at the heart of Sporting Praia’s identity, while the club continues to forge its own legacy in Cape Verdean football.

HOME KIT | A HERITAGE SHARED

 

SCP’s 2026/27 Home Kit pays tribute to the historic bond between Sporting Clube da Praia and Sporting Clube de Portugal.

 

Featuring the iconic green and white horizontal stripes, the design incorporates a subtle pattern inspired by calçada portuguesa, the traditional Portuguese mosaic pavements that adorn streets and squares across Portugal.

 

At the back of the neck, a Portuguese caravela sails with the initials “SCP” emblazoned on one of its sails - a symbol of shared heritage and the historic connection across the Atlantic.

 

The design is completed with a solid black collar and cuffs, bringing a clean, distinctive finish to a shirt rooted in tradition.

 

AWAY KIT | THE SPIRIT OF CAPE VERDE

 

SCP’s 2026/26 Away Kit celebrates the identity, craftsmanship and cultural heritage of Cape Verde.

 

Presented in black with emerald-green detailing, the design features a distinctive pattern inspired by Pano di Terra, the traditional woven fabric that reflects the archipelago’s rich textile heritage and craftsmanship.

 

At the back of the neck, an emblem draws inspiration from the decorative motifs found in Praça Alexandre Albuquerque, the historic square in Praia’s Plateau district - a subtle tribute to the capital city and its cultural landmarks.

 

Emerald-green collar and cuffs complete the design, reinforcing the club’s colours while capturing the vibrant spirit and distinctive identity of Cape Verde.
